I felt it was appropriate to do something a little festive before Christmas creeps up on us, and what better than something peppermint seeing as it reminds me of Nan’s peppermint covered pavlova and candy canes – the most festive things of all! I know I did a review of one of the Frank products a little while back and in the time since that last review they’ve released two new scrubs and a body lotion. I will be unwrapping the Cacao Body Scrub tomorrow morning – sometimes you’ve just got to point your family in the right direction to the point of purchasing it on their behalf – and wanted to get some use out of this one before I had too many Franks to handle. This one comes in the same packaging as the other scrubs with the only difference being a light mint green band along the top. This particular scrub targets cellulite, stretch marks, psoriasis, varicose veins, eczema, acne and scarring using a combination of ingredients including brown sugar, sea salt, mint extract, almond oil, peppermint oil, olive oil, vitamin E and aloe vera.
The first thing I noticed was the scent, while it’s very much a peppermint scrub, there is still that gorgeous smell of coffee when you open the bag, and they both stick around once you are done, the coffee being the stronger of the two scents. I also noticed this one tingled a little on my skin as I sat for the ten minutes waiting for it to do it’s thing and while it’s something that would usually bother me a lot, the skin on my legs has been so dry this season I was just hoping it would help me out! If you haven’t used these products before, basically what you do is take a small handful and scrub it all over your body and wait for ten minutes before washing it away, and the results, well they never cease to amaze me. What I really like about this one is my skin was a lot softer than it has been with the other products, perhaps the inclusion of some ingredients really targeted something in my skin but it really made a noticeable difference.
I thought long and hard about my next statement, because I think this is a big one, but I really do love this scrub more than the other two I have tried. The fact that it left my skin more smooth than the others really shaped this opinion, but I was also entirely won over by the gorgeous peppermint scent which really helped tone down the coffee a little that some people seem to notice and comment on – I have noticed the trend that they are all coffee haters pointing this out – and like all other Frank products I love how easy they are to use and in the end they aren’t that expensive, at most $18 AUD for a product that will last you two scrubs a week for a couple of months which works out perfectly for my budget.
So, you might be wondering where you can get these little packets of heaven? The answer to that question is from the Frank Body website. It’s a lovely Australian company and I know for a fact that if you’re struggling to find gifts for people who really enjoy locally made natural scrubs and lotions they are perfect. It’s also available internationally, but you won’t be able to take advantage of the free shipping I’m afraid, that and it’s a little too late to get these into a stocking for Christmas, but they are certainly worth a try! I’ll be back on Saturday but in the meantime, I wish you all the safest and happiest of holidays wherever you might be in the world!
