My Colourpop Collection

In less than a weeks time I intend to place a huge order from Colourpop, and I felt now was the time to take stock of what I already have and provide a few swatches. And surprisingly I had enough for an eye/face arm and a lips arm — as we can all see I’m not favouring anything particularly crazy a few bright pinks and a few dark browns but as it goes this collection is fairly neutral for me. I was considering tossing a few but now I’ve got them all on I’m not ditching any I love most of the formulas — well aside from Glitterati and Nillionaire which I suspect are similarly formulated and as a result crumble quite a lot under the weight of the large amounts of glitter.

Left Arm — From Left to Right:

  • Glow – Super Shock Shadow
  • Cornellious – Super Shock Shadow
  • Game Face – Super Shock Shadow
  • Kathleen Lights – Super Shock Shadow
  • Nillionaire – Super Shock Shadow
  • Blaze – Super Shock Shadow
  • Glitterati – Super Shock Shadow
  • Drift – Super Shock Shadow
  • Rex – Super Shock Shadow
  • Envy – Super Shock Shadow
  • Fanny Pack – Highlighter
  • Cruel Intentions – Blush

Okay, so it’s no secret I love this formula for the most part. It’s soft and glides on so smoothly, in fact I don’t even use brushes with these, I use a finger and tap it onto the lid. What I will say is I don’t like the fallout from Glitterati and Nillionaire, however they are beautiful colours so I fix them on with a little Fix+ and I’m always good to go. Clearly my favourite from this are both from the Kathleen Lights collab and they are Kathleen Lights and Glow, both of which I’m already hitting the pan on and I’m fairly sure they only come in the collab palette which hurts my soul a little because I’ll have some doubles if I have to reorder. Overall, the shadows have a large amount of love on my part, as does the highlighter I own and the blush which I use for fairly basic everyday looks as neither are over the top and they stick on with amazing colour payoff for ages. Just ask my arm which still has a bunch of faint lines on it hours and several scrubs later.

Right Arm — From Bottom to Top:

  • Limbo – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Tulle – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Bad Habit – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Kapow – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Beeper – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Trap – Ultra Matte Lip
  • Tootsi – Lippie Stix
  • Cookie – Lippie Stix
  • Lumiere – Lippie Stix
  • Pasties* – Lippie Stix – This was provided to me for free as my order took a while to get shipped out.
  • Poppin* – Lippie Stix (Limited Edition)

Okay, I’m a little more torn on these the formulas vary wildly and as a result it’s clear to see that Tulle and Limbo tend to be a little patchy whereas others are not. But I do love that they stay on and dry so beautifully matte and can easily be built up. I love the feel of the Lippie Stix by comparison, they don’t feel dry whatsoever, however they aren’t transferproof in the same way the ultra matte’s are so it’s really going to be a matter of getting something that you know will work for you here. If you’re lips are dry consistently, the ultra mattes may be too drying for you and look flaky and the creamy consistency of the lippie stix might be more your style — plus you can always mattify any lipstick at the end of the day. Regardless, the take home message here is you really can’t go wrong with these products at this price point which is always great.

The company is also really nice to deal with, they’ve always gotten back to me quickly and even included a free lippie stix when my order took a while to get shipped out to me which is always a really nice little find when you open the package. I love that they’re cheap and the quality is high which is sometimes not always the case in high end brands. If you’re looking for something different this is definitely a brand to check out they have an amazing variety of colours and products and that’s always a bonus, not only this they have swatches on the website that make it super easy to determine how a colour might look against your particular skin tone, because as any pale girl will tell you it’s super easy for a shade to go from light to dark completely by accident purely because you’re paler than a ghost. Overall, these guys get a big tick of approval from me and I look forward to my next shipment which I anticipate while I’m trying to scrub these colours off my skin.

Until next time,
x ac
