Today, I thought I’d do things a little differently, not only have I managed to destroy my camera by accidentally allowing it to take a tumble out of my bag cracking the lens and giving everything a weird hazy glow that I don’t want about it, I’ve also finished work before 2pm (is this the real life?). So today, I thought I would share my makeup look of the day, I went for a purple/mauve kind of cut crease look, with a little bit of duochrome action in the centre to spice things up a little and paired it with a nude lip — Colourpop’s Chi if you were wondering!
To start the look off, I went in with my MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot, and followed that with Buon Fresco. I blended this across the whole lid and a little up into the crease. I then deepened the crease with Warm Taupe. Once I was happy with this I added Love Letter to the corner of each eye and highlighted my brow bone with Primavera. From, here, I stopped using a brush and went in with my finger and pack Swish onto the centre of the lid, extending it a little into the crease as well, and then packed Phantom on top of it, right in the very centre. With the eyes done, I lined and mascara’d up and I was good to go! The perfect, 2 minute eyeshadow look for a 5am start!
I’ve been really excited about using my duochromes that I bought last year recently, and absolutely love giving them a spotlight and these halo type eyes, and even the cut crease really give you a bit of space to let these really unique shades shine, and they definitely add something a little extra to almost any look. I think the main thing for me right now, in the mornings that I do something simple that is going to last me for the entire day and pack a bit of punch in terms of the look it’s giving off, and I think I’ve managed to achieve that today, or rather I hope I have.

I feel like this is one of those really versatile looks, which could be used for anything from a date night look to really just something summery and casual and fun, and I would absolutely love to try it in the future with a nice mauve-type eyeliner instead of the black, however I don’t quite have anything like that at my disposal at the current time. I think it just goes to show with the right colour selection, and a bit of quick blending you can create something quite pretty providing your colours all work together, and that’s the beauty of palettes like the Modern Renaissance Palette, the colours just look so good together that creating a nice simple look which looks like you’ve spent hours blending is possible in minutes.
